Convaid Partners With Dream Foundation To Fulfill Wishes

Convaid, Inc., a Southern California-based manufacturer of lightweight, compact-folding, adaptive-assisted
wheelchairs, recently fulfilled the dream of a young woman with special needs through its donation of a wheelchair
to Dream Foundation, a national nonprofit that grants dreams to adults facing a life-threatening illness in their last
year of life. Dream Foundation is the first and largest wish-granting organization for adults. The donation is part of Convaid’s robust philanthropic and community engagement program.

The “dream recipient” is 24-year-old Cherlynn, who has Rett syndrome, a rare genetic postnatal neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls and leads to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily. Cherlynn has been managing with an adult wheelchair, but due to severe scoliosis, she cannot sit upright in the wheelchair without padding. “Cherlynn and her mother have dreamt of a new wheelchair for outings to the park and everyday shopping trips, simple things that many of us take for granted,” said Megan Turley, Dream Foundation dream coordinator. “Convaid’s donation
allows Cherlynn and her mother to safely and comfortably engage with their community and experience the world beyond the four walls of their house. I am so grateful that Convaid helped Dream Foundation fulfill Cherlynn’s wish.”
“As a company, Convaid remains committed to serving people with special needs, and our commitment goes beyond
the production of our extensive line of mobility products,” said Chris Braun, Convaid president. “When and where we can, our goal is to meet the needs of people who are experiencing hardship in acquiring the proper mobility equipment.

We have seen firsthand the positive impact – physically and emotionally – that special needs families experience
when they have access to best-in-class mobility products.”  Convaid satisfies the assisted mobility needs of thousands of special needs families every year by manufacturing pediatric push wheelchairs in a variety of sizes and models, and backs its products with one of the best warranties in the industry and a highly responsive customer service
department. The patented compact folding mechanism allows custom wheelchairs to be easily carried up steps, placed in the trunk of most compact cars, or used while traveling. Convaid’s wheelchairs provide the optimal combination of corrective positioning, comfort, durability and safety for the user, in a product that is both attractive and easy-to-use for the caregiver.
