Dr. Kristin Compton has been named “2014 Manager of the Year” by TNCO (Tennessee Community Organizations – East Tennessee) for her work, advocacy, teaching and commitment to the oral healthcare needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Award was accepted on behalf of Dr. Compton by Kyle Hauth, Executive Director of the Orange Grove Center and Wanda Willis, Executive Director of the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities (who provided the grant to start the clinic). Dr. Compton was in Honduras providing dental care to individuals with ID/DD on a dental mission.
Dr. Compton, a regular contributing writer for EP magazine’s AADMD column, is Director of Dental Services, Orange Grove Center; and Adjunct Professor, Chattanooga State Dental Hygiene Program; TN State Clinical Director Special Smiles, Special Olympics.
