WHAT: UCB, Inc., The Epilepsy Company^TM, will award 30 one-time scholarships in 2009 as follows:

§ Twenty $5,000 scholarships to people with epilepsy

§ Ten $5,000 scholarships to family members or caregivers of people with epilepsy

To apply, you must certify that you are:

·          A U.S. citizen and/or legal and permanent resident of the United States

·          A person with epilepsy or a family member/caregiver of a person with epilepsy

·          Seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree

·          A student who demonstrates academic achievement, possesses a strong record of

·          participation in activities outside of school, and serves as a positive role model  

·          Graduating from high school in 2009 or have already graduated from high school

·          Enrolled in, or awaiting acceptance from, a United States-based institution of higher education for fall semester 2009

DEADLINE: The completed application must be postmarked by April 10, 2009. Scholarship winners will be notified in August.

The UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program^TM provides financial support for academic and personal achievement. In just four years, UCB has awarded more than $530,000 in educational grants. In 2008, UCB awarded scholarships to 30 students.
