The International Ohdo Syndrome Conference will be held in Sidney, British Columbia September 4, 5 and 6, 2009.
Parents of children with this very rare genetic disorder are coming from all over the world to share their experiences and learn more about Ohdo Syndrome.
Doctors and therapists who have experience with children with Ohdo Syndrome will be at the conference discussing medical knowledge and therapeutic strategies with each other and with the parents.
“We expect this to be a great learning experience for parents and professionals” said Mary FitzZaland of Sidney British Columbia one of the conference organizers and parent of a child with Ohdo Syndrome.
“And it will also be a tremendous joy to finally meet parents and children who have been so much a part of our life for the past six years.”
FitzZaland added.
“All of our children have benefited from our network and some children are alive today because of the information shared within our group.”
“Our goal is to strengthen our network and increase the research and knowledge about Ohdo Syndrome” said FitzZaland.
The conference is sponsored by the Queen Alexandra Foundation, a charitable foundation associated with the Queen Alexandra Center for Children’s Health in Victoria British Columbia.
Sidney is a lovely location for the conference with its many attractions for visitors, and a number of special events have been planned for the families attending the conference.
There are no fees for parents attending the conference, but space is limited so pre-registration is required.
