(Convaid), a Torrance-based manufacturer of custom-made, compact lightweight adaptive-assisted wheelchairs today announced that its Trekker has received its CE Certification, qualifying it as having met the requirements mandated by the European Union (EU) for products officially imported into the EU nations.
CE is the acronym for the French “Conformite Europeenne” – a set of rules governing import into the EU to protect member nations from products that might endanger safety, pose a pollution hazard to public safety, interfere with electromagnetic devices or create other detrimental effects.
The benefits to Convaid of its Trekker receiving the CE certification include the express permission to place a CE mark on each Trekker manufactured for export to the EU, permitting the Trekker to move freely between the EU member nations, facilitating sale and delivery of the Trekker to all EU Nations.
